Life Science Expo 2018 Proves Rhode Island to be Upcoming Powerhouse

The second annual Life Sciences Expo was held at the Omni Providence Hotel on April 4, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.  The Expo program includes panel discussions on industry-wide issues such as investment, innovation and growing the supply chain and industry ecosystem locally, and also includes specific life sciences topics such as immuno-oncology and CAR-T cell therapies, Alzheimer’s disease and health technology innovation. Leading life sciences researchers, clinicians, and executives representing Novartis, Johnson & Johnson, Mass Bio, Wexford, and Sorrento Therapeutics will join local experts from the Warren Alpert Medical School, Boston University School of Medicine, Rhode Island Hospital, Roger Williams Medical Center, Slater Technology Fund, Cherrystone Angel Group and the University of Rhode Island. A dedicated zone supporting start-ups with drop-in advice clinics, as well as an expanded exhibitor hall, have been added to this years’ event, as well as an evening reception and lunch to facilitate more peer to peer contact and networking.
